Self Bunded Fuel & Diesel Tanks

Double-walled tanks with built-in 110% secondary containment — AS1940 compliant, relocatable, and ready to install without external bunding, spill trays or civil works.

A self bunded fuel tank is a tank within a tank: the inner tank holds your diesel or ULP, and the outer tank captures any leak or overfill with at least 110% of the inner capacity. That makes self bunded diesel tanks the fastest way to put compliant bulk fuel storage on a site — no bund walls to build, no fixed location, and no compliance rework when the site moves. A-FLO's range covers the FUELCUBE, FUELBOX, FUELTAINER, FARMBOX, GENCUBE, Poly Refueller and Fueltrans ranges, all designed in-house for Australian conditions.

Self Bunded Diesel & Bulk Fuel Storage

A-FLO's diesel tank range covers everything from compact self bunded units for on-site storage to large-scale bulk diesel storage tanks for high-volume operations. Every tank is designed and engineered in-house to withstand extreme Australian conditions — from the heat and dust of outback mining sites to the coastal environments of port facilities and agricultural operations. Our diesel tanks meet Australian compliance requirements for secondary containment, environmental protection and workplace safety.

For operations that move between sites, our Fueltrans self bunded diesel trailers provide mobile fuel storage that travels with your fleet. For fixed installations, the Fuelcube, Fuelbox and Fueltainer ranges offer scalable capacity with integrated bunding — no separate containment compound required.

Why Choose a Self Bunded Tank

  • No external bunding required — the 110% containment is built in, cutting civil works and installation cost off the project.
  • Relocatable — move the tank between sites as projects finish, without rebuilding compliance infrastructure.
  • AS1940 compliant — in every Australian state and territory, with containment designed into the vessel.
  • Faster to deploy — ready-to-ship stock means a compliant fuel installation in days, not months.
  • Custom fitouts — pumps, flow meters, hose reels and fuel management systems fitted in-house before delivery.
  • Single skin instead? — if the site already has compliant bunding and the tank stays put, see the single skin range.

Self Bunded Tank FAQs

What does “self bunded” mean?
The tank has two walls. The inner tank stores the fuel; the outer tank forms a built-in bund that captures at least 110% of the inner tank's capacity if anything leaks. It replaces the concrete bund wall a single skin tank would need.
Can a self bunded tank be moved after installation?
Yes. Self bunded tanks are designed to be relocatable — lifting lugs and forklift pockets are standard on most models, so the tank can move with your project.
Self bunded or single skin — which do I need?
Choose self bunded when there is no existing bund on site, the tank may relocate, or you want compliance built into the tank itself. Choose single skin when the site already has compliant bunding and the tank stays put.
What can be fitted before delivery?
Pumps, flow meters, hose reels and fuel management systems are fitted in-house before the tank ships, so it arrives ready to commission rather than as a bare vessel.
