What are oil hose reels used for in a workshop?

Oil hose reels are retractable hose management systems that allow workshop operators to pull out the required length of oil delivery hose, dispense oil to a vehicle or machine, then retract the hose neatly back onto the reel. They eliminate hose on the floor, reduce trip hazards, prevent hose damage from kinking or running over, and keep the service bay organised and safe.

What mounting options are available for oil hose reels?

A-FLO oil hose reels are available in wall, ceiling, floor and tank-mount configurations — giving workshops, service bays and industrial facilities flexible installation options to suit bay layout, hose reach requirements and whether a fixed or mobile setup is needed.

Are A-FLO oil hose reels suitable for high-pressure industrial applications?

Yes. A-FLO's industrial oil hose reel range — including GRACO XD series and RAASM heavy-duty reels — is designed for high-pressure oil delivery, featuring full-flow swivel systems that maintain unrestricted flow under pressure and corrosion-resistant construction for demanding industrial, mining and workshop environments.

Can I get a hose reel and pump as a complete kit from A-FLO?

Yes. A-FLO's oil distribution kits combine an air operated pump, retractable hose reel and dispensing gun as a pre-matched system for 205L drums and 1000L IBCs. These complete kits are available in multiple pump ratios and hose lengths to suit your workshop or depot setup.

What is a hose reel gantry and when do I need one?

A hose reel gantry (service column) is a freestanding or ceiling-mounted support structure designed to hold multiple hose reels overhead in a workshop or service bay. Gantries are used when a workshop needs to dispense multiple fluid types (engine oil, gear oil, coolant, grease) from a single service point, keeping all hoses organised, accessible and off the floor.

Overview

Why Oil Hose Reels Are Essential Workshop Infrastructure

A hose dragged across a workshop floor creates trip hazards, picks up contamination and wears out faster from abrasion and kinking. An oil hose reel eliminates these problems by keeping the hose retracted when not in use and extending it cleanly to exactly where it is needed — then retracting automatically when the operator releases it.

A-FLO's oil hose reel range covers individual industrial reels for single-fluid dispensing points and service column gantries that hold multiple reels for high-throughput multi-fluid service bays.

Safety & Ergonomics

Retractable reels eliminate hoses on the floor — reducing trip hazards, improving bay tidiness and reducing manual handling strain on operators.

Hose Protection

Automatic retraction prevents kinking, abrasion and running over — extending hose service life and reducing replacement frequency and maintenance costs.

Optimal Fluid Flow

Full-flow swivel designs maintain unrestricted oil delivery under high pressure — no flow restriction or pressure drop across the reel during dispensing.
