What is a Lubeshot lubricator?

Lubeshot is a refillable single point lubricator that mounts directly on a lubrication point and dispenses continuously over a set period. A-FLO stocks 100ml and 200ml refillable oilers and 100ml and 220ml refillable grease lubricators.

Why use an automatic lubricator instead of manual greasing?

Automatic lubricators suit points that are hard to reach, run continuously, or are routinely missed on a manual round. Because they deliver small amounts continuously rather than a large amount occasionally, they also reduce the over-greasing that damages seals and bearings.

What thread sizes do the fittings use?

A-FLO stocks extensions in 1/8 BSP male to female in lengths from 1/2 inch to 2 inch, and straight adaptors in metric M8 x 1 and M10 x 1 combinations as well as 1/8 BSP to M10. Imported equipment commonly uses metric fittings where Australian-built plant tends to use BSP.

How do I choose an extension length?

Choose the shortest extension that brings the fitting clear of the obstruction. Over-extending puts the nipple further out than necessary, where it is more exposed to damage. A-FLO stocks incremental lengths so the fitting can be positioned precisely.

Are the lubricators refillable or disposable?

The Lubeshot range supplied by A-FLO is refillable, so the unit is recharged rather than replaced at the end of each cycle.

Overview

Automate the Point, or Reach It

There are only two honest solutions to a lubrication point that keeps getting missed. Either make it reachable, or take it off the manual round altogether. This category holds both.

Extensions and adaptors relocate the grease nipple to somewhere a technician can actually seat a coupler — out from behind a guard, clear of a rotating component, or turned to a workable angle. Refillable single point lubricators go the other way, mounting on the point and feeding it continuously so nobody has to visit it at all between refills.

Specifying fittings

Check the thread — 1/8 BSP is common, but M8 and M10 metric fittings appear on imported equipment
Choose the length — extensions run from 1/2in through to 2in in the BSP range
Straight or angled — straight adaptors for clearance, angled where the approach is obstructed
Refillable lubricators — oiler and grease formats, in 100ml and 220ml

Lubricators, Extensions and Adaptors

Extensions are stocked in incremental lengths so a fitting can be brought out exactly as far as clearance allows, without over-extending it into another obstruction.
